Not only is today my daughters 5th birthday, it is also

NATIONAL TIME OUT DAY!!!

I can't believe such wonderful occasions on the same day. I only wish
I was at work to participate.

Oh yeah, happy birthday, my baby girl. I love you.

Stupid order of the day

I got a call from a post partum nurse today.

I have a patient who needs a stat duoneb & cpt x 1.

Really?!?! 1 time?!?!

So I looked at the order and then it started to make sense.

It was ordered by an obgyn for her pt who had a cough.

So, I did it...her breath sounds went from clear to clear, spo2 from
100 to 100%...I think you get the picture.

This was one of those days where I felt like I made a difference. ;)

This is a summary of a conversation i 'overheard' while minding my own
business charting at the nurses station.

Postpartum nurse: will you please check on my pts. I can't take it
anymore.

Nursery nurse: sure, why?

Pp nurse: this is the 34 weeker from earlier today. The father is so
demanding. He wants to know why we are saying its 38 weeks.

Nursery nurse: the baby dubowitzed at 38 weeks. I did it myself.

Pp nurse: I know. I explained that to him. He want the chart changed
to show this is an actual 34 weeker because if it is really 38 weeks....

ITS NOT HIS BABY!!!

Gotta love it!!!

I guess this could be classified as polydaddybabia as opposed to
polybabydadic.
